ART

 

Students will learn Art Concepts, Art Appreciation, and Terms to Remember that include but are not limited to:

 

3D Paper Crafting, Color Theory, Art Types, Color Mixing/Blending, Design, Drawing, Geometrical Shapes, Value/Contrast, Self-Expression, Cutting, Drawing, Modeling, Painting, and Texture.

MUSIC

​In Music class, students learn about Composers, Music Appreciation, reading, and writing notes. The lesson includes drawing a scale, and learning rhythm, tempo, and pitch.

U.S./AMERICAN HISTORY

​Lessons include, but are not limited to the formation of the country, Native American civilization, the Founding Fathers, Articles of Confederation, Declaration of Independence, American Revolution, Civil War, the history of the American Flag, the Star-Spangled Banner, Pledge of Allegiance, Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, and various American Symbols.

BIBLE STUDY

Students will participate in an age-appropriate Bible Study. Lessons include learning about the many stories and characters in the Bible and learning songs, completing worksheets, or projects that correlate to the study.

Thursdays from 10 am - 2 pm

LIFE SKILL: CONFLICT RESOLUTION

 

Participants will learn age-appropriate, practical activities in conflict resolution that help them understand how to resolve conflict positively and successfully. They will practice skills and strategies for COMMUNICATION, NEGOTIATION, and CONSOLIDATION of conflict resolution procedures.

ELEMENTARY SAFETY

 

Elementary Safety will include Home, Outdoor, Road & Car, Animal and Farm, Fire, Electric, Water, Personal, and Emergency Safety. Also being offered in this course is youth CPR/First Aid. Elementary Safety will be delivered through animated guides/handouts, color pages, and video.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The P.E. program also included various calisthenics, physical activity, and the concept and fundamentals of various sports.​

NOTE

*Career Day will be the first Thursday of the month. Life Skills (Conflict Resolution) will be offered on Thursdays for the remainder of the month.

*Thursdays are currently reserved for curriculum expansion, tutoring, field trips, etc. Ample notice will be provided as these programs are implemented.
